Well, I've decided what I'm going to make my office-mate. I've decided to create something less expected than the traditional or somewhat conventional. I've decided on a Snow-woman wall hanging. Initially, I had considered making a small, frameable-size scrappy quilt with a block every now and again being of a "Pink Ribbon" fabric, and honestly, I still might make that. But for now, it's the Snow-woman wall hanging.
I love Snowfolk. I especially love making them -- all kinds, all sizes and all shapes. And ... it is that time of the year.
Oh, I'll incorporate the "pink" in several places and possibly even use "Pink Ribbon" fabric for the scarf around her neck. But first, I'll need to check on that part. Although I don't believe it to be so in this case, there are times when ones with cancer don't choose to "advertise" it by "wearing" insignias and such and I wouldn't want this gift to feel "offensive." I want this gift to be a source of fond thoughts, smiles and energy. So, once I speak with one of her friends, I'll know better if I should go the route with the Pink Ribbon fabric or not.
In any case, I'm off to the fabric store.
