Faceless and Hairless in Maryland

Creating dolls is a step-by-step process, which for me doesn't start to get difficult until time to do the face and hair. Guess that's because the hair and face are the parts of the doll -- for me, at least -- that gives the personality. It's funny, but I can decide on the body size and shape easily enough and the clothes too, but the face and the hair ... they always give me pause. And pause is what I do until the face comes to me and then after I've decide on how the face should look, I can then work on the hair.

Well, I guess I should get started drawing a bunch of faces; I've got several dolls who need to be brought to live and given a personality.
